I’m a passionate Visual Arts Teacher! I adore teaching every aspect of the art process and encouraging creativity both in the art studio as well as around the school.

I showcase my students work every chance I get. I am a proud art teacher and create a safe, positive, enjoyable (yet rigorous) work environment for all students.
I am constantly covering the walls of any school I am at with student artworks. I also like to find spaces (like the library) to be a spontaneous art gallery that I can show off more work and keep switching it up!

I like to collaborate with other teachers and create curriculum connections.
During every school year, I work with a variety of teachers - I support their curriculum from simple ways such as discussing the same concepts in my classroom to full on development of units to support their curriculum. I also like to go into classes like TOK to present mini art-based workshops.

I'm always trying new ideas and think outside the box to challenge my students and keep them engaged in the art process.

I am a born Leader (and have relevant Leadership Experience).
I studied my M.Ed (Leadership and Organization) with USF and WSU with the ISLP programme with EARCOS and am continuing on my learning journey as a Ph.D. Candidate at Concordia University. Ever since my early days as Head of Waterfront in Orillia, Ontario, I see leadership as a conversation, a tool to promote collaboration, positive growth and ultimately, elevation for all.

I am so happy to create a variety of Marketing materials to promote both my Visual Art program and my school. Art displays are my speciality.
I love to get involved in school activities. I coach. I supervise clubs. I create art contests. I'll go to prom. And have been known to sing and play guitar (but only for special occasions)
I can design, plan, promote and chaperone students on local and international trips.
I love opening up my classroom for my students to experience learning without walls whether we go just down the street - or around the globe.
Arts Festivals are an amazing way to develop creative confidence, create excitement within the arts and network with schools.
At ISE, I was so fortunate to be able to develop and organize our MRISA Art Festivals, both with our student leaders and my phenomenal colleagues. Every school needs an Art Festival. It *may* be one of missions to make this happen.

Reaching out to the community, making connections with parents, other teachers and other schools in the area allow for even more opportunities to showcase my students work - and generate more interest in our school and the Arts.
I always feng shui and decorate my teaching space.... and the school.
