IB DP VISUAL ARTS
Our IB DP Visual Arts Exhibition at SIS were wonderfully successful! Our students hard work paid off and they really enjoyed showing their revealing personal art shows to their peers and parents! I was lucky enough to work with 3 talented cohorts through their creative development, building their Process Portfolios, their Comparative Studies and supporting these emerging artists in their Exhibition. The community at SIS was so supportive and came out in droves to support our artists making each exhibition a special time for our artists to reveal their own unique visions for their own galleries.
2020 SHEKOU
Our 2019-2020 show was hit by the beginning of COVID and so our students had to pivot and learn how to complete their work through numerous lockdowns and to exhibit digitally. My students and I explored so many unpredictable viewpoints throughout our two year creative journey and their exhibitions reflect their tenacity, their determinism, their explosive creativity and their passion for making art.. and making a change.

2019 REGARDEZ
For our 2018-2019 show, our students were so excited, they painted their own walls! Students explored themes such as identity, femininity, nature, nurture, ideas of homeland and cultural significance as well as gender, digital and political constraints. Each students voice rang loud and clear and their visual presence was considered and confident. Students explored a range of 2D, 3D and 4D mediums, experimenting with time, space and pushing the audience's boundaries.

MEDIA BLITZ |
If you feel like you wish you could have attended, SIS's resident MS science teacher and photographer Peter Hennigar had your back. He took some fantastic shots of the G12 artists talking about their work with many of our SIS teachers and community.

Since #SISROCKS used social media as a way to connect and communicate with our community in Shenzhen, our DP students decided to create a media blitz giving those who couldn't attend our exhibition in person a visual of each exhibition. To promote the idea, we also created posters highlighting each student's show.
